Announcements

We had a great Celebration Sunday as we dedicated our pledges, gifts
and our very lives to God and the work of our mission in the 285 community
and beyond!  So far we can anticipate $183,838 over the next three years
for land payback!   The music was wonderful!  Thank you to the choir, Nancy,
Helen and Sherrod for such inspiring music!  We were blessed to have 10
people from King of Glory Lutheran in Arvada and several other guests
join us for worship and the picnic! 

It was so good to be on our land for the picnic....thank you to Peter for being
grill master.....to Jerry K., Jerry G., Sherrod, Peter, and Greg for hauling the
tables, chairs, tent, and grill to the land and back!!   In addition to Chip Hartney,
we were also blessed with having two other Elk Creek Firefighters....Lt. John
Zeising and Paramedic Sam Spear join us for the picnic.  They pulled out a
fire engine and ambulance for the children to check out...well, the adults were
interested, too!!!

It was so good to be on the land that the council has decided we will have
an outdoor worship service there on June 15....mark your calendars.  More
information will be coming for that.

NOTE....this Sunday is Pentecost Sunday....the day we remember the
out pouring of the Holy Spirit on the disciples.  The color of the day is red...
for the fire of the Holy Spirit.  Check your closets for something red to wear.

This Sunday we will also say "thank you" to our Sunday School teachers,
the choir, our musicians, and the many volunteers for their/your ministry this
past year.

Vacation Bible School will be held at Deer Park United Methodist Church
June 16 - 22....it will be lots of fun...parents, get your children signed up!
Forms are on the credenza.  If adults and youth would like to help...there's
room for you.

Interfaith Pantry work days....help us remodel and expand the pantry....
May 16, 17 and 18.  Sign up sheet on credenza.....besides workers, we
need folks to help with a potluck lunch on Saturday.  We also need to
have 6 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members help with this project
in some way.  See Pr. Beth with questions.

Note:  we will have a joint potluck and dedication of the pantry on
Sunday, June 22nd.

Bailey Day.....June 21....we will have a booth with clip magnets, chips,
and games for children.  Sign up to help...it's fun!!

Plant Sale, Blood Drive and SHARE all happen on the same day....
May 31st.....we need lots of folks to help!!!  There is also a Safety Fair at
Elk Creek Fire Station #1 for children and parents that day.
